Hello Everyone, Welcome to TechnoSpace. I In this post I will be showing you an amazing trick through which you can watch Star Wars, Yes! The infamous Star Wars on Command prompt! The one and only requirement is a working internet connection, which you already have since you are reading this post.
Most people (95%….just kidding, I myself don’t know how many) are not aware of the fact that they can watch Star Wars on Command Prompt. A part of the great movie has been done completely in characters (ASCII Characters) which can be viewed easily using any operating system with a command prompt. On windows we have the good-old command prompt through which we can watch Star Wars with just a few commands.
Knowledge of using commands is not required, so don’t worry if you are new to this and just want to try something new.
Most (Actually all !) of the commands can be copy pasted directly from this page to your command prompt.
This tutorial is being written especially for Windows, Mac & Linux Command Prompt. However, if you know how to use the “telnet” command on other Operating System/ Devices then you can modify the commands accordingly and watch Star Wars on Command Prompt on other devices too! This is because of the simplicity of the process involved, just connect & play type of work is being done here.

- Now open Command prompt. ( Ctrl + R > type “cmd” without quotes and press enter) .
- Now in the command prompt window, type “telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl” without quotes and press enter.
- As soon as you do this, your movie will start. Yipee ! Now you can resize the command prompt window according to your need.
Other Operating Systems :
I have written the steps specifically for the most common operating systems. However, if you are not on one of these, don’t worry ! You will just have to figure out how to use telnet and then connect to towel.blinkenlights.nl and after that you can watch the movie.
